Arctic Blast Movie – Storyline :
When a solar eclipse sends a colossal blast of super chilled air towards the earth, it then sets off a catastrophic chain of events that threatens to engulf the world in ice and begin a new Ice Age. starring Michael Shanks, Alan Andrews, Alexandra Davies, and Saskia Hampele. Its world premiere took place at the 2010 Canadian Film Festival in Sydney, at the Dendy Opera Quays cinema, on 4 August.
The plot is centered on a colossal blast of heavily chilled mesosphere air spreading over the Earth after a solar eclipse, which (combined with the effects of environmental pollution), causes a hole to open in the ozone layer. The catastrophic event threatens to engulf the entire world in ice. As Hobart, Tasmania, is hit by the cold front with temperatures of below −70 °C, causing people to die almost instantaneously, physicist Jack Tate (Michael Shanks) tries to find a solution while protecting his family.
Arctic Blast Full Movie Review:
My “Summary” pretty much explains it all and my 6 star review is very generous. I only watched this movie because it was yet-to-be-reviewed on IMDb and because I have a… thing for Indiana Evans (Matilda from Home and Away). It’s very similar to The Day After Tomorrow and sadly it’s destined to drown in the shadows of Tomorrow When the War Began. Nevertheless it was nice to see a straight-to-DVD Aussie disaster movie that wasn’t a total disaster.
The ozone layer lets us down and suddenly an icy gust manifests itself just south of Tasmania. It soon becomes a global concern when Tazzies turn up looking like a T-1000 drenched in liquid nitrogen.
