In suburban Connecticut, upper-class high schooler Amanda (Olivia Cooke) euthanizes her crippled horse with a knife, leading to charges of animal cruelty. a while later, Amanda arrives at the house of the more popular and academically-inclined Lily (Anya Taylor-Joy). the women had previously been best friends but grew apart after the death of Lily’s father. They meet under the pretense of hanging out and having an off-the-cuff tutoring session, but Amanda knows that her mother (Kaili Vernoff) has paid Lily to socialize with Amanda. Lily denies being paid, but Amanda, left emotionless by an unspecified mental disturbance , is unfazed. Lily meets with Amanda again, this point voluntarily, and that they rekindle their friendship..

Thoroughbreds Full Movie Review: 

Certainly the film is worth watching because the 2 girls are attractive and between them don’t have an oz of cellulite on their bodies – what?? how?? is that this Hollywood?? if so how can it be???? – and moreover their flat delivery and expressions is ideal for the unfeeling and uncaring characters they portray.

“Thoroughbreds” has arrived. There isn’t a false or wasted moment between the two lead actresses right up to the quietly startling climax, and Paul Sparks’ soul-sucking turn as a controlled–and controlling–stepfather lost in an obsessive-compulsive disorder of a life has you disbelieving it could be the same actor who also so effectively played the soulless theater critic in “The Greatest Showman” (although Mr. Sparks might want to try an all-out comedy next–he’s in danger of getting typecast playing soul-deadening men–because he does it so well). Saw this on a rainy, dreary day, and it fit the day perfectly. However, the most event of the film is left ambiguous and therefore the step-father never seems to form a move for a threesome or ffm action, which makes no sense if you see these girls.
